Hee-heeeee! ♪ So look over these posters, then pick a Pokémon that looks weak enough for you to bring to justice! ♪
Ness: Um... You say some are weak... But they're still bad Pokémon, aren't they? I'm scared of dangerous Pokémon!

And this here leads to the Guildmaster's Chamber. Next, I'll you both around places outside the guild.

Bidoof: This is the main part of town for the local Pokemon... It's called Treasure Town.
Ness: Oh, I can tell you about Treasure Town too. Oh, I can tell you about Treausre TOwn too. That over there is Duskull Bank. We can save our money there. And that over there is the Electivire Link Shop. That's where you can do thinkgs like link moves together, but... It looks as if Electivire isn't here today. Here we have Kecleon Market. You can buy and sell items here. And there's Kangaskhan Storage. Items stored here will never be lost. If you have precious items that you can't afford to lose, store them here before you go on an adventure. And those are the basic places that exploration teams visit. And that should do it.
Bidoof: You sure know a lot, yes sirree! And that's good to know! All right, then. Come find me when you're all ready to go. I'll give you a helping hand with selecting the right outlaw for you.

Bidoof: Updating data is Dugtrio's duty. He tunnels his way to our guild... Then he flips the panel and updates the data. This duty doesn't get noticed much, but it's very important. Yup yup! That's why Dugtrio takes such great pride in the duty he does!

Ness: Oh, looks like he's done.

Ness: Look! There's Marill! [Ness and Joshua approach Marill] Marill, what's the matter? Where are Azurill and Drowzee?

Ness: I have no way of knowing what you were like as a human, Joshua... But I think you must have been a good person. After all, Joshua, it was your dream that helped us catch that bad Pokémon.

Ness: You know... Time is getting messed up, bit by bit, all over the world. No one seems to know why. But everyone believes that the Time Gears are somehow involved.

Ness: They say Time Gears are hidden in secret places around the world. Like in a forest...Or at a like in an underground cavern... I've even heard that there is a hidden altar inside a volcano. At the center of such places... is what's known as a Time Gear. Time Gears serve a very important function. Each one protects time and keeps time flowing properly in its region.

Ness: But... what happens if a region loses its Time Gear? I don't really know the answer to that question. But my guess is that if a Time Gear is removed from a region... The flow of time in that region will probably stop too. That's why everyone makes sure never to disturb the Time Gears. Everyone has long been certain that some kind of disaster would strike. So everyone stays away from the Time Gears and doesn't tamper with them. Even the most hardened criminal Pokémon know to avoid messing with them.

Swellow: Well, all right! Let me explain! First, you stand in front of the Job Bulletin Board, then press A. You can choose jobs you want to do by using the Job Bulletin Board. You'll get a letter describing each job you choose. Those letters will show up on your Job List in the menu. To actually start a job, you must use the Take Job command in your Job List. Then you can do the job in the dungeon! You must use Take Job before starting a job. Or else you can't do it, even if you go to the correct dungeon!

Wurmple: The jobs on the boards range from easy to difficult. The easiest jobs are marked with the letter "E." The jobs get progressively difficult from "D" to "C" and so on. Well, as you move around in a dungeon, you'll get hungry as your Belly empties of food. If your Belly gets empty, you'll get weaker and weaker... until you faint! Oh my gosh! Terrible! Bidoof is a little short on experience, so I'll back him up.
P.S. I plan to write about how my exploration went with Bidoof... Now that should really be something to look forward to! Eek! ... Which again makes me think that someone may be peeking at my diary? Oh my gosh! How horrifying!

And that over there is the Electivire Link Shop. That's where you can do thinkgs like link moves together, but... It looks as if Electivire isn't here today. Here we have Kecleon Market. You can buy and sell items here. And there's Kangaskhan Storage. Items stored here will never be lost. If you have precious items that you can't afford to lose, store them here before you go on an adventure. And those are the basic places that exploration teams visit. And that should do it.

Ness: Listen, Joshua. Are you still awake, Joshua? I've been thinking it over since it happened. That strange dream you had, Joshua... Maybe it has to do with you personally, Joshua.

Ness: That's just the feeling I get. I sure don't know any other Treecko who dreams about the future. And I've never heard of a human suddenly turning into a Pokémon either. That's why I think those two events are connected. I can't help feeling that way.
Joshua: (The key to unlocking my memory...) (Was it in that dream?) (But even if that were true...) (How does it relate to anything else?)
Ness: I have no way of knowing what you were like as a human, Joshua... But I think you must have been a good person. After all, Joshua, it was your dream that helped us catch that bad Pokémon.
Joshua: (Bad Pokémon, huh... ) (Oh! That reminds me of what Chatot said.) (That the growing number of bad Pokémonhas been caused by time going out of whack.)
Ness: You know... Time is getting messed up, bit by bit, all over the world. No one seems to know why. But everyone believes that the Time Gears are somehow involved.
Joshua: (Huh? Time Gears?)
Ness: They say Time Gears are hidden in secret places around the world. Like in a forest...Or at a like in an underground cavern... I've even heard that there is a hidden altar inside a volcano. At the center of such places... is what's known as a Time Gear. Time Gears serve a very important function. Each one protects time and keeps time flowing properly in its region.

Ness: But... what happens if a region loses its Time Gear? I don't really know the answer to that question. But my guess is that if a Time Gear is removed from a region... The flow of time in that region will probably stop too. That's why everyone makes sure never to disturb the Time Gears. Everyone has long been certain that some kind of disaster would strike. So everyone stays away from the Time Gears and doesn't tamper with them. Even the most hardened criminal Pokémon know to avoid messing with them.
[A silhouette is before a Time Gear in the forest]
?: Do my eyes deceive me? Could it be...? Yes, it is! [flash of lightning, and the silhouette is briefly lit] I've finally found it! A Time Gear! But... this is only the first of many... [two flashes of lightning]

Then you can do the job in the dungeon! You must use Take Job before starting a job. Or else you can't do it, even if you go to the correct dungeon!

Wurmple: The jobs on the boards range from easy to difficult. The easiest jobs are marked with the letter "E." The jobs get progressively difficult from "D" to "C" and so on. If you're just starting out and you're unsure of your skills, you should start with the easiest jobs rated "E." Pardon? Me? I'd never choose a hard job rated "C" or anything like that! Y-y-yeesh!

Loudred: The tunnel down there leads to the sentry post. Diglett burrows through it and pops out underneath the sentry post. From the sentry post, Diglett inspects the footprints of visitors, identifies them, then informs me. Then I decide if the Pokemon is suspicious or not and open the gate if he passes muster. So we serve as the guild's gatekeepers. That's the gist of it. Look, all you two have to do is inspect the footprints of visitors, then tell me what Pokemon they are. All right? Understood?

Loudred: Really?! You're not just messing with me, ARE you? All right. I've got a BIG heart. I'll explain as much as you want. [he explains again from Diglett's burrowing]

Oh my gosh! That silly Loudred! Ooooh! He can be so absentminded! Everyone knows that if you get totally wiped out in a dungeon... you lose some items... and all your money! But of course that silly Loudred forgets all that and goes storming off into the dungeon... And that wound up making us both wipe out! So I got sent back to the guild too! Eek! So frustrating! Oh my gosh, I never, ever want to go to a dungeon with Loudred again!
P.S. Two new kids joined the guild! I think they were called Ness and Joshua... Oh my gosh. They're both adorable. Yippeee!

Entry 3: Lovely Food!

Tomorrow, I'll be off exploring with Bidoof. That Bidoof is sure to wander needlessly, so I should stock up on lots of food. Oh? Why do we need lots of food? Well, as you move around in a dungeon, you'll get hungry as your Belly empties of food. If your Belly gets empty, you'll get weaker and weaker... until you faint! Oh my gosh! Terrible! Bidoof is a little short on experience, so I'll back him up.
P.S. I plan to write about how my exploration went with Bidoof... Now that should really be something to look forward to! Eek! ... Which again makes me think that someone may be peeking at my diary? Oh my gosh! How horrifying!
