I don't know about other people, and I haven't been here very long, but I named the one I started off with 'Grimalkin' after a type of creature from home it reminded me of.

Grimalkin? What do those look like?

Grimalkins look like black cats, but they're very intelligent.

[She lets her Sneasel out of its pokéball, and it peers curiously at the screen.]

This is the Sneasel I was given to start with. They don't look quite the same as Grimalkins, but between that and its personality I thought 'Grimalkin' was a good name for it.
