In an epilogue to this story, I might have mused, "we were on our way to the gym, so we expected to be a little sore the next day anyway." I'll blow that zinger in the intro, though, and skip straight to the story ( Read more... )

what i found crazy about accidents, having been in and witnessed a few myself, is how unclimatic or dramatic the sound is. at least mine, like a loud thud, crunch of body panels. glass braking but not really shattering.

so unlike you see in the movies.

I'm not coming to Chicago to see the Pixies. Our vacation has left both of us physically, monetarily, and spiritually bankrupt. We're both just glad to be home and giving love to our dog Tom. It was a tough decision, but we both felt much better after it was made. Sorry about this. We'll try to plan something even better to do in Chicago sometime soon.

I'm happy to hear you're alive. Car accidents suck the sloppiest balls. I had an old lady drift into my lane about 2 years ago, heading the opposite direction. I swerved into a parked car to avoid a head-on collision. She was ironically (or coincidentally maybe) trying to put on her seatbelt and that's why she drifted. I still am nervous of oncoming traffic, especially if they're drifting a bit.
