Thanks for the information! It seems like the best Christmas gift I could get this year.
Now I'm wondering why they called the album "Nine Stories" if there's only eight songs on it. I know it's just a name and it doesn't have to make sense - but maybe that was the idea behind the title: to get more attention when people start wondering about the same thing I do :P
If our domestic postal service behaves nice, the album will be my New Year present, I hope:P
I know it's just a name and it doesn't have to make sense It might be true for anyone else, but not for these particular band, not for Issay. I think so not because I'm too much a fan, but because I know that he cares about words and meanings like rare musicians do. A friend of mine translates his lyrics (not into English, so I can't recommend it here in community, unfortunately) and as we have been discussing it a lot, we came to understanding that there is always an idea or experience or some reference behind every his word/lyrics. Even the way he talks about albums in the interviews proves it.
As for "Nine Stories" and 8 songs, I came across an interesting comment today which I believe somehow explains the reason to that, I'll post here later in the evening (have to be off work now).
Hm, I guess we'll get our copies around the same time. Someone once told me that getting a birthday gift too late is not a bad thing because it makes you celebrate your birthday longer - that might work for me with Christmas and international postal service this year.
I'll be waiting for you to come back from work then. I'm really curious what you found. Everything you wrote about Issay here seems true to me even if I never had a chance to understand as much as I would like to.
If we really do, it would be interesting to compare impressions^^ So far Japanese fans are totally in love with it - they all had chance to purchase it at the lives.
As for the comment, check next entry. I can't say for sure if that's all behind this, but for now it's at least something. I'm curious what Issay tells about the album in that interview in "Motto".
