Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

About five-foot five, although he's still growing.  Tony's a little stunted from poor nutrition but he'll get taller than Henry someday.  Skinny, sometimes unhealthily so, for his age.

2. How old is he?

Twenty-four at the end of the first novel.  I think he might be twenty-seven by the time Vicki turns 40 though.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

Tony has a casual posture.  He can slouch like a teenager when he feels like it.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

Tony runs around on set all the time, so he isn't out of shape, but he's not really toned or buff and he can become dangerously thin if he overuses his magic.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

Tony's pretty competent until Lee Nicholas comes around.  And then he turns into a giant clutz.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Tony isn't unattractive.  He has a certain appeal in his smile and his figure, but at the same time he's no movie star.  Tony doesn't think of himself as anything but average in the looks department either.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Fair skin, paler when Henry's been feeding from him.  He has many scars, the most obvious being the ones over his right pec from when he got caught in gang territory, and the small scars on his wrist from where Henry likes to feed.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

Dark brown, growing back in nicely after he'd buzz cut it really short in an attempt to keep up with trends.  He just keeps it cropped close to the ears now.

9. What color are his eyes?

Very pale blue.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

He has an eyebrow ring over the left eye.  Silver ball bearings.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

Shoulders and back.  He tends to hunch over.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

Very casual.  The only suits Tony owns are ones Henry made him buy.  He prefers the jeans and a t-shirt approach, and most of his t-shirts are ones he got for free or off discount racks.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

They fit okay, if Tony doesn't happen to lose weight.  And he's comfortable in casual clothing.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

No difference really, although Tony sometimes wears his Darkest Night crew jacket on set.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Either boxers or commando when it's coming up on laundry day.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

Like a typical guy's voice, I suppose.  Not too deep, but not high.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Tony can shout when he needs to, but he normally doesn't want to attract attention.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

Some of his old street dialect can creep in when he's agitated or upset.  Or when he wants to rile Henry up.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

Tony speaks English.  That's it, unless the language Arra's spells are in counts, and he's not really fluent in those either.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

See above.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

Tony can sometimes come up with a good speech, but mostly he fails at the whole inspiring words thing.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

If it's about movies, Tony can go on for hours.  Otherwise, he isn't that much of a talker.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Tony's smart, but in a practical way, not in a "learned student" way.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

He can think on his feet, mostly because he has to in most of the situations he gets into.  He's pretty good at it too.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

Tony goes with his gut instinct on most issues, and they don't usually fail him.  Some of that might be due to "wizardly" influence or just exposure to the supernatural, but most of it is due to his experiences on the street.  He can also be extremely idealistic.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

High-school drop out at 14.  Went back and got his GED under Henry's influence, and then completed film school.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Tony's an expert at classic films, and he's interested in the show business industry.  He wants to be a big name director one day.

Extrovert.  Tony accepts people as they are and is able to connect with them.

Tony is open but observant.  And he trusts his instincts.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

Tony is more likely to react unless he absolutely knows he has to act.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Tony's default is flight but if it comes down to it he will fight.  Especially if he's protecting people he cares about.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Tony has a certain sarcastic streak, as well as gallows humour, and he does like to joke around.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

PTSD maybe.  He deals mainly by pretending it's not an issue and ignoring it.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

Getting tossed out on the streets when he was 14, surviving by turning tricks, meeting and getting busted by Vicki, meeting and saving Henry, moving in with Henry, moving out on Henry, crush on Lee Nicholas, getting a job at Darkest Night's set, defeating the Shadow Lord, finding out he's a wizard.

14. What does he fear?

Dying is pretty high on the list.  Not being able to save his friends.  Shadows.  Mummified Egyptian wizards who suck the lives out of babies.  CB in a bad mood.  Somehow losing all he's gained and going back to being Tony the nobody street kid.  Losing himself by being Henry's possession.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

Tony wants to direct movies.  Good movies.  Movies that will turn into classics.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

He doesn't like too many people knowing he used to be a whore or drug addict.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

Horrible.  Tony's parents threw him out of the house at 14 for being gay.  Canon gives hints that Tony's father was a real asshole and that Tony has some daddy issues.  Tony's mother, apart from not stopping her husband from throwing out their son, may not be so bad.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

None that he knows about.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

Nope.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

Henry is sometimes a father figure (while being an ex-lover which is hella confusing) and Vicki is a friend and sometimes a maternal figure (who is also Henry's ex-lover, which makes this some twisted thing).  Amy has become something like a surrogate sister to him.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Henry is probably Tony's best friend.  They met when Vicki dragged Tony over to his apartment to feed him to the vampire in order to heal him from wounds Henry got while fighting a demon.

6. Does he have other close friends?

Vicki, Celluci maybe, Amy, Zev.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

Tony is easy going and he gets along with people (and if he doesn't he just keeps out of their way).

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

Friends.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

Tony is single but dating music director Zev Sero in between book 1 and book 2 in his series.  The relationship is short lived but they remain friends.

There's weird sexual tension with Henry and Tony still finds himself offering 'meals' from time to time.

First crush was the captain of the football team (did not end well).  Latest crush, Lee Nicholas.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

Easy-going, attractive, kind, Lee Nicholas, vampire

No kids.  And Tony thinks CB's kids are enough to put anybody off having children.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

Maybe Kate at work, and Brenda, but they aren't exactly enemies or rivals.  Tony's enemies tend to be supernatural.  Shadowlords.  Evil wizards.  That kind of thing.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

Gay gay gay gay gay.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

Tony loves sex and is completely okay with giving it away on the first date.  Or having one-night stands.  Or a quickie in an alley.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Turn ons: Biting, guys who know what they want and aren't afraid to tell him
Turn offs: roughness

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

Don't know.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

Tony isn't religious, but he's open minded about spirituality.  After all, demons exist, so angels might too, and Henry's got faith so why shouldn't he?

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

Tony is very adamant about doing The Right Thing and he doesn't compromise on it.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

Tolerant.  Unless someone believes that they should be killing him or taking over the world.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

Tony doesn't like the Boy Scouts.  He remembers a scout leader buying his 'services' when he was on the streets and how he came to see Tony regularly after scout meetings.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

Tony gets by, but he's not rich by any means.  He doesn't have enough to buy a car, but he has a steady income, and his own apartment, food to eat.  Tony considers that to be pretty well off.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

Tony's a set PA for a syndicated vampire detective show.  Not exactly the best status, but considering he used to be a junkie street kid who turned tricks, it's a definite step up.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

A small apartment downtown, with mostly old furniture that came with the apartment, a rocking entertainment system, and peeling ugly wallpaper.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

Transportation, DVDs, and the occasional night out.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

Watching movies, maybe hanging out with Henry, clubbing sometimes.  He doesn't have that much free time though.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Tony will eat anything.  Usually he buys junk foods, cheap and easy to make.  Tony doesn't cook.
