So I broke down and bought Trick of the Light...
Here are my thoughts in order of progression (and I'm so not finished the book yet but here's at half-way):
1. Trixa is too much of a stripper name for me to take seriously. But then again so was Cherish. Sometimes I get the feeling Thurman thinks of stripper names she'd like to turn into analogies and quips before she decides on a character to go with those names.
2. If I hear about how Trixa's hair has three totally different colours in it one more time, I'm gonna punch a baby.
3. Solomon is interesting, but he's a demon so I guess he'd better be.
4. Griffen and Zeke = Niko and Cal redux?
5. At times in the book dialogue will happen and I'll have no idea who is saying it. This is worrisome. I shouldn't have to struggle to figure out who is saying what, not only because the structure of the story is all over the place, but apparently the characters don't have distinct enough voices that I can pick out who is saying what because of how they say it. =/
6. I think Whisper should turn out to be Rafferty's niece or something. Even though there is no chance of this happening ever.
7. Oh Zeke. He's such a crazy motherfucker and I still want to hug him.

9. idk what's even going on now. So Trixa can just go around touching people who've seen this Light thing and absorb their memories because...she's...special like that and...idk...help. :(
10. I will finish this book, but it's slow going. I keep having to puzzle things over too much, and not in the good 'wow this is really smart and intriguing and I wonder what that means' kind of way.
