He's having GI issues again. He normally gets this maybe once or twice a year... they never can figure out exactly what's wrong with him. Different vets say different things. He had an episode about six weeks ago, and then another a few months ago... so I don't know if it's something with DC that is not agreeing with him, or if it is a function of him becoming older.
We have him on antibiotics and bland food again. We may just keep him on a special diet and see if that works...
Talk to the doctor about Science Diet... actually ask specifically about Prescription Diet i/d. It comes in canned or dry and is the BEST answer to this kind of thing. Stoli was on k/d and so was Spot. VERY high quality and they have a prescription diet for just about any type of ailment.
I think you can only buy it through a vet's office however, so ask while you are there if they haven't recommended this already.
ps - Fierce shoes. Of course the guy from that design show totally ruined that word in the lexicon for me... but if anything was ever truly fierce... it's those shoes. If they made them with silver hardware, I'd get some to wear with the chainmail skirt I've had my eye on...
Funny that you say that - last time, they put him on the canned i/d, and he *loves* the stuff. Inhales it in .02349234 seconds. So, this time, they put him back on it. We may just keep him on it.
In the past, other pets have tried to put him on w/d, which he finds rather vile and won't touch.
The only problem I forsee with keeping him on the i/d is Baron. We will have to make a very concerted effort to feed them separately... which also means no more free choice (which they have always had). I am contemplating purchasing the dry i/d and just feeding it to both of them. The vet said this would be expensive, but should not adversely affect Baron.
I don't know which option would be best... I don't even know how pricey the dry i/d is. We typically feed them Nutro lamb and rice (have been for years, with no problem, 95% of the time), and I believe it is about $30 for a 40 pound bag. We go through maybe two bags a year, as they are small guys and don't eat a ton.
