People with 100 lights on the outside of their big, fancy houses. They keep them all lit up all night like some significant point on a videogame's world map. Your house is unimportant. No one wants to see it, fucking narcissist. Get a porch light like the rest of us and turn that

I agree with you on the lights on the houses...at least my parents shut ours off after we go to bed. I don't know why we bother to put them up in the first place, but meh, it's not my house so I don't care. I guess when you get a house you have to show it off to make others feel bad for not being able to own one.

Lights are actually a form of sympathetic magic... encouraging the sun to come back after being away all winter... It's a religious thing. Even for me... and my religion isn't exactly "popular". And people around here actually DO take drives to see people's houses. I don't think it's narcissist as much as it is ego, though.

Our LCD light cost us a whopping $0.10 per month for a few hours' use... So we throw a quarter or two more on the power bill come Christmas/Yule time.

We have a timer on them, though, so they're not on all night, 'cause yeah, that one is stupid.
