Truth be told, Maggie was a little worried about being away from home. This year was not being a peaceful one, and the way she seemed to be shedding long French locks faster than usual only served to reenforce that. But Michèle invited and France supported and her boss gave her a hug and told her to shoo for a few days.
Fine, then, she was shooing. And arriving at the warmest place she'd ever been. Her hair, usually in pigtails, was instead flowing free (mostly to cover the baldspot at the base of her skull) and... now sticking to the back of her neck. And she'd only just stepped foot on land.
Spying Michèle approaching, she opted out of the initial tackle hug reaction to instead proclaim, distressed, "Chelles! C'est trop chaud!"
