"Bring the violence, it's significant. Doomed to life" - Disturbed (Violence Fetish)
One of the deepest questions mankind has ever asked is the question of it's own disposition. Are people naturally inclined towards the good or the bad? Right and wrong, righteous and wicked, hero and villain, there are hundreds of words to use when talking of this opposition. Personally, I feel that naturally we are all evil. At birth we are indifferent. When we are born nothing matters. If left to our own devices, self preservation would tell us to do anything to get ahead or stay alive. The Right or Good thing is just societal values and morals that have been imposed upon people. The only thing that makes a man killing another wrong is that we say it is. People are made heroes, legends, or even more, for killing people. Genghis Kahn is a hero to many many people, he killed people all across Asia and Europe. Moses killed hundreds, it says so in the bible. Even if people don’t go as far as killing, wrestlers are made famous for beating the crap out of people. People have a lust for the disorderly, a flare for anarchy, and a pure desire to destroy. When you get really angry, it’s only human to get aggressive, to break things, we all feel the desire to destroy something beautiful. If we were naturally inclined towards the good then we wouldn’t learn from doing the wrong thing. It isn’t nature over nurture, because we are taught the good and shown the right thing to do. It’s nurture suppressing nature. That’s the reason we’re here today as a species. Between War and Homicide and all the violent tendencies people have, it’s remarkable that the teachings of the good have thrived. It’s almost enough to work as proof of God.
