My blanket DNW are graphic/extreme violence, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children, nominated character death
Ghostly Vanishing Hitchhiker: You know the urban legend. Run with it.
I love vanishing hitchhikers and the people they interact with, so have at it. I love the Twilight Zone episode The Hitchhiker, I love Resurrection Mary, I love the Phantom Passenger that Needs a Ride Home. Go for it! Feel free to combine her with any of the other prompts (particularly the heiress & sleuth one, or librarian/patron).
Young Runaway Heiress Hunted By Murderous Family & Girl Sleuth: Picturing a Nancy Drew-esque character and setting but a little more at stake.
Yes! Secret passages and hidden treasure and a plucky girl sleuth who helps the heiress defeat the murderous relatives (possibly with a little help from her lawyer parent OR a tall dark and handsome male sleuth).
Retrieval Team Leader & Faithful Space Rover Whose Battery Died: Opportunity type rover found, female team lead has spent her whole career preparing for THIS moment.
Focus is on the Brave Little Rover That Roved and the excitement of the leader/crew. Like this is the whole reason she went into her job, the moment she’s dreamed about (and maybe its not as dead as they think…)
Pregnant Beekeeper/Controlling Husband & Her Bees: The bees will make the husband pay.
Pregnant Beekeeper/Controlling Husband & Bees - This has been deleted from AITA but can be found on the AITA Twitter (
https://twitter.com/AITA_reddit/status/1220800379614646273). He gives away her bees! Maybe the bees are magical. Maybe she is secretly a bee priestess. Maybe they all come back and “take care” of him… This can be fluffier or you can go darker. No harm to bees. Harm/off-screen death to the man is okay. Or if he runs in terror every time he sees a bee, that works as well.
I got a lovely story where the bees and the woman have a bond and agree the man is trash. Maybe something as she goes through the pregnancy with the bees?
I would prefer less graphic, more creepy if death of deserving characters is shown - but I am a-ok with it. But maybe being haunted/traumatized to the end of their days would be good as well (being stalked by angry bees?). Maybe he freaks out every time he sees a bee, or random bees attack him.
Woman Who Loves Growing Plants/Boyfriend Who Destroys Plants & Her Plants: The plants will make the boyfriend pay.
I would prefer less graphic, more creepy if death of deserving characters is shown - but I am a-ok with the man dying - maybe he has a car accident in that brand new truck and the forest plants take care of him? But maybe being haunted/traumatized to the end of their days would be good as well (A fear of climbing plants?).
Link to plant:
https://twitter.com/redditships/status/1267555908000845824 (thought it was AITA but no - BF wanted to fight and she didn’t play along, so he destroyed her custom plant room, including her great-grandmother’s ivy, and now he’s sad that his best friend is gone)
So what I’d really like is for there to be consequences. Man found dead in pond where he drowned all the plants.
I’d really like for the great-grandma’s ivy to just reappear to the girlfriend once she’s safe. I got an excellent story for this in OWO last year but more is good!
Princess Who's The Only Heir of Her Dying House in a Misogynistic Kingdom: All the dy-nasties.
Plots and attempts to undercut and the cut direct. I like the idea of setting this leading up to her crowning when they all have to sit and watch. A vaguely Regency vibe is good, or Victorian. I am definitely here for petty moments of enjoying success whilst enemies gnash their teeth and put on their fake smiles.
Crown Princess Who Was A Starving Writer In Former Life/Faraway King Who's A Fan Of Her Books: I've written on this one but I want it. I love the idea of them bonding over the books.
For crown princess, I wrote on this one for Fandom 10K, so you can feel free to look at that, add on, get inspired by it!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/27190984 is the first of three stories. I like them bonding over the books v. real life. I generally envision her as a romance writer, but I would also love for her to write mysteries.
Desert Nomad/Oasis Spirit (F/M): I like the idea that the nomad must be worthy of finding the oasis.
Not much to add, but I’m definitely interested in the aspect where the oasis spirit controls who finds it. Can only someone who is worthy find it? Does it provide a refuge? Where did the spirit come from?
I’m a desert person, so I appreciate descriptions and bringing out the beauty - maybe the oasis has a superbloom going on?
Harvest Goddess/King/Queen (F/M/F): The ritual gets a little more real than they planned for...The goddess likes the looks of the king?
For the royalty and Harvest Goddess, I want all the lush details and wonder. I want something dealing with the whole ritual sex between king and queen as stand-in for harvest goddess to ensure a good harvest. It's supposed to be symbolic, but what if the harvest goddess did actually come down? Whether or not anyone except the king and queen realizes that she is present is optional. I like the idea of the goddess actually coming down - perhaps she likes the look of the king or he reminds her of someone else? I’d prefer she be attracted to the king - perhaps a reminder of her own consort.
Honor Student/Overdramatic Ideas Person/Person Who Makes Plans Work (F/any/M): Yes I love Ouran High School Host Club. I love the three of them struggling for balance.
The honor student is just trying to study, and overdramatic ideas person keeps dragging her away, person who makes plans work sighs and comes along to ride herd.
Lady of the House/Male Secretary (F/M): Totally down for an improper relationship.
On this one, I am all in on the smut factor and double intendres. Either there is no man of the manor or he is okay with her outside activities.
Librarian/Frequent patron (F/M): Flirting with books
Book recommendations from either side. Leaving his number in the book he returns *late* and in-person because he does not want a fine. Wink wink nudge nudge. Meet cute with books.
