Miner's lettuce question

I'm working on the bobcat card idea, set in a California setting with some CA plants such as (possibly) Miner's lettuce. (I miss Miner's lettuce...) I'm wondering if you'd really see much of it during summer time? I know it's more common in winter but from what I can tell it would be growing (at least in wetter areas) in the summer, too.) Hm, when I lived in Santa Cruz, I couldn't imagine a time when I *didn't* see Miner's lettuce all over the place! Though, I wasn't on campus much in the summer time, though it was certainly around for the rest of the year (sorry I'm not much help XD)

In the parks here I only see miner's lettuce in the spring, and then only in the shaded or damp areas. It might last until summer in wet years, but in a dry year like this, there's pretty much nothing green left by June.

Sometimes you can still find some tough old Miner's Lettuce in the late spring but it's all gone by the time the grass starts to turn brown.

I remember seeing Miner's Lettuce on the javalina hunt!

Here I live in California and I had no idea what Miner's Lettuce was. (shifty sideways look)

Glad to hear the cleaning went well! I'm pondering a similiar 800 pound project: moving. Evidently the house needs to be fumigated for ticks and a bunch of fix-up work needs to be done, so I may just trade it in for a condominium, smaller place, easier to take care of. o_o

But... So much stuff that would have to be moved!
