Just came back from seeing the early showing of the new Trek movie. If you have any interest in Star Trek,

It's awesome! They did it right. *dances about* Woohoo! I'm gonna go have a celebratory toast now...

And why do I not have a Star Trek icon? I may have to change that....

I saw the new Trek movie about two weeks ago... I bought the whole 'new time-line' part but for the rest... The crazed skin-head with a grudge and a doomsday weapon were déjà vu all over again, and the accents/mannerisms of the core cast were way over done. The movie was worth the price of admission but I wasn't agog, I wouldn't have given it the 9 out of 10 rating average it had on the cinemamontreal site. Wrath of Khan. Now that was a good flick. 8-)

Well, Wrath of Khan is THE Classic Star Trek movie (the only other one as good was Star Trek 4, my personal all-time fav :))... at least this way, they can continue making Trek movies (and without trying to recreate the same timeline- like Khan's character, which should be left for Ricardo M., who nailed it). But yeah- I'll agree some elements (crazed skinhead with a grudge) were kinda repetitive...:P)
