Putting on the Ritz

I'm doing some (art) research of Putting on the Ritz for Mom's youth summer work program next year. Man, Fred Astaire could dance!
These kind of guys are still famous for a reason... I should watch more old movies some time.

I think most modern performers don't come close to the talent of the classic ones.
Part of what ruins a performance for me of a lot of actors these days is know too much about them personally.

IAWTAC. Performers these days really aren't as talented, and especially lately, the biggest stars are more often the biggest drama queens. Maybe I'm getting jaded and sentimental but it just seems like stars in the old days knew more about the values of CLASS, TALENT and HARD WORK.

Of course, the "studio system" they had back then helped a lot with that, too, I imagine.... and that was cruel in its own way. ._.

Smooooth...Astaire was like warm butter on toast.

Oddly, yesterday I bought Taco's version of Puttin' On The Ritz!

PS-- if you want a *wonderful* primer/reminder: watch That's Entertainment! parts one and two (I prefer two, myself-- I even saw it in the theaters when it was released!)

Time when Hollywood had more glamour than controversy.
I very much agree with the first comment about knowing too much.
