Scotty has curiously started to poke around the apartment buildings, breaking into the offices and digging around until he finds the keys for the apartments. He only goes as far as the first floor, not brave enough to venture farther up, but so far he hasn't found anyone else. Just empty apartment after empty apartment. The good news is that there's ample room in case they get more people moving in, but thinking of other people here isn't very cheerful.

He steps out of another building and starts to head for home when he sees the lights and hears the music. Curious, he follows the light and sound to the night club he'd only ever glanced at and then moved on when he figured it wouldn't be that useful for food. He's immediately wary and suspicious as he opens the doors and steps inside, glancing around. Someone has to be here, and he walks through the club until he finds a man looking rather pleased with himself ( ... )

Lex looked up when he saw someone enter the room and sat up, waving to one of the plush chairs beside him.

"Yes, I did." Lex says with a grin and another drink from the bottle before offering it to the man. "Brilliant isn't it?"

He takes the drink and pushes the chair closer, familiar enough with the club scene to know he won't be able to hear well from its original position. "Yeah, and loud," he sort of laughs, though it is hard to laugh while raising your voice. "This might seem like a silly question," he says with a sweet smile that also conveys the fact that he doesn't think it's a silly question at all, "but... what is it that you're doing exactly?"

"Trying to get someone's attention." Lex said with knowing grin, as if it was obvious. "People who may have appeared alone in other parts of the city will know others are here. And someone over the wall might send help if they know people are here."

Florence had been idly going through one of the books she'd found in her room in the forlorn hope of finding something legible when the night burst into a cacophony of light and sound.

Swearing under her breath, she changed out of her nightgown back into her suit and headed out to investigate. After several minutes of searching, she zeroed in on the nightclub and entered, wincing at the noise.

She spotted Lex and headed over, somehow not surprised to find him behind all of this. "Well, Mr. Luthor. Dare I ask?"

Since he of course couldn't hear her come in, Lex looked up when he saw her out of the corner of his eye as he was taking another drink from the wine bottle. He gave her a charming grin and offered her one of the nearby seats. "I'm just trying to get a little attention Ms. Vassey." He said, only a tiny bit smugly.

"I'd say you've gotten that in spades," Florence said dryly as she sat on the indicated seat. "Should I ask why or will that be just cramping your style?"

She eyed the bottle he was holding. A drink sounded like the perfect thing right now. If she was lucky, it would stave off the headache that was threatening to descend. "I don't suppose there's any more where that came from?"

"Not at all! It's a brilliantly simple plan if I do say so myself!" But first thing was first and he reached for a nearby glass to pour her some of the wine. Once that was settled, he gladly began explaining his plan. "While the five of us were lucky enough to arrive where someone could find us, what if someone did not have such good fortunate and thought they were alone in the city? The obvious light and music would let them know someone was here and give them a beacon to follow to the rest of us. Plus, if anyone is watching from over the wall, perhaps they might send in rescue if they knew people were here." Then he sat back with a smug smile, taking another drink of wine as he let her process his words.
