I can empathize with you here. Though I haven't pursued a writing career, I know what it's like to have those days where nothing seems to go right, or maybe to have the nagging fear that your hopes and dreams are a fool's gambit. Though it's probably not what you want to hear in your situation, I can say with some surety that the greater the challenges and obstacles are that we overcome, the more fulfilling the reward will seem when it arrives ( ... )

I love that quote from your teacher! How insightful! I absolutely agree with it. I think that my insecurity about my book comes from a place deep down that I have never tapped into before. I have never had the guts to put myself out there because I have always considered my "creations" so mediocre. Something about my book, though, feels better than what I have created before, so I was hoping the responses would be "yes yes yes". I pictured myself having to choose between literary agents. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that one will be interested!

The book felt as though it was meant to be written. I had never written a book before, and this one poured out of me, as though the words came from someplace else. Fingers crossed that something amazing will happen. I'm sure more breakdowns are in my future :) Thanks so much for the support.
