As someone also trapped in the Bryn Mawr/Haverford/tiny school in general bubble, what has really helped me this year has been doing something way off campus. I did this program where I taught algebra in this high school prep program to 8th graders in Philly. It was unbelievably difficult, but really good for the mental health.

But...all I've got to say is that I'm not really looking forward to the sophomore slump.

i completely understand, i felt the same thing at claremont. the only thing that got me happy there was joining crew and meeting one person at all of the 5C's that i could call a good friend. all it takes is one person, so i hope they come along for you.

but above EVERYTHING what makes me a less selfish person and what keeps me happy is staying friends with the people i cared about in high school. they're still my best friends and the people i most admire and care about and being able to be excited to see someone, care about someone, or just miss someone you love may give you back all the emotions you could be missing...
