So how about English today and Ms. Jenkins completely flipping a bitch? That was almost as much fun as the busywork in social anthropology. Not cool. Easy classes should stay easy. On the bright side, Sweeney didn't assign first period a quiz like he did to second period.

Very little about zero period surprises me anymore. I agree with you about teachers being responsible for setting the class tone. At outdoor school training, they tell us over and over again that unless you set expectations of your students, there's no way they can try to meet them. It's the same thing.

Don't you love Irby? I know I bring her up quite often, but she's certainly a woman worth being brought up. God, I am going to miss her so much. She loves you and I know you think she's great, and it makes me so happy to see you happy about her.

hahha, this sounds EXACTLY like what happened last year, and i remember writing a livejournal entry about how much it annoyed me. she starts off the year easy because she wants you to like her, to say nice things about her, and look how cool ms. jenkins is - she's everyone's buddy. personally, i think she wants to be more popular than halpern. but after the first semester, she cracks the whip... because people start calling her class a joke, which, lets face it, it is. it's not a college prep course. there's no paper writing, no enforcement mechanism for doing homework, does anyone NOT get an A? what do you actually LEARN? i like english, i like paper writing, but to get up at 5:30am to go to that class was a waste.
