breaking in boots sucks.. last pair i got in germany made me want to cut my feet off. if you can survive the torture it will be ok though, and i hear docs are comfortable.
ha yeah.. news... you still expect them to inform people? im beginning to read the enquirer... more factual lately
Docs are crazy comfortable after you break their will. Strangely, I got these 20 holes for cheaper than my old 14 hole pair; how are good boots priced in Germany?
Yeah, I know I have unrealistic views on how the media should act. A guy can dream, can't he? I genuinely hope though, that some startup news company will come along and realize that there are ratings (re: money) in breaking these sorts of stories.
Kenny Boy is on his own. He is too much of a political liability. Hell, Bush may just push for Kenny to be found guilty, as then he can look like he is doing something to stem corporate crime. Some of the other execs might have a chance at a pardon though, as people (myself included) don't know their names right off the bat.
things are ok.. just been either really busy or apathetic toward posting.
boots are priced about the same i would think, maybe a little cheaper in germany depending on where you go.. but its all relative.. you know?
i've had the idea, although not completely thought out, of advocating that all 'news' organizations claiming to be unbiased be required to also exist as a non-profit organization.. there's got to be something.. any ideas of how to cut out the entertainment section of all this shit they call information?
as for kenny boy... i was thinking that if bush doesn't get reelected (and therefore affirming the united states populace has some redeeming qualities) perhaps bush will make some last-minute pardons.. you know.. like the ones clinton was so heavily criticized for..
I don't think completely unbiased news is possible. Generally good, critical news is though. Consider the status quo in news reporting juxtaposed over the huge sums of money Michael Moore has made. Considering that his movies contain that spirit of criticism absent from news companies today- people are gobbling it up! Sure it's blustery, slanted, and whatnot; people are so starving for critical "news" that they will still flock to it. The morale? A guy could make a lot of money if he owned a news company that was critical (read: somewhat objective). NPR is non-profit and has some great news coverage; being a non-profit [radio] station though, people don't pay much attention. Advertising is necessary.
I actually considered last-minute pardons. I still think he wouldn't do it for Kenny due to name recognition. It would hurt the Republican party through association. Other Enron officials? Probably. Just not Lay. Hopefully we'll see soon enough.
