"it is only a matter of time before a gay, married couple moves from Massachusetts to say, California."

i was watching the Senate debates a week ago on C-SPAN. and a Republican Senator was making the case of why gay marriage was a threat more now than ever, and he whipped out this map of the U.S. which illustrated that there was at least one gay married couple in 46 states. (Califonia was on of those 46. My state of Louisiana was one of the four without such a couple. And the Senator misidentified my state as Mississippi. Dumbass!)

"H.R.3313 will ban the Supreme Court from hearing cases regarding the DoMA."

As I understand it, it's not just the Supreme Court, none of the federal courts would be able to hear challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, essentially rendering the abilities of one entire branch of government obsolete. This is sooooo unconstitutional. crazy. crazy.

I didn't know about the 46 states thing. Wow. It really is just a matter of time.

I emphasized the Supreme Court thing, as whenever a circuit court rules on something, nobody seems to pay attention. But yeah. This is insanity, really.
