[the following is written very slowly and laboriously; the writing is - surprise!  actually a bit neater and more deliberate than is usual, which is a large part of why it seems so calm.  But each short stretch of words is curved, ends pointing down - Rogue's actually having to sort of crouch or kneel on the page and brace the shaft of the pen ( Read more... )

"Cool"?

Why wouldn't you exist?

I have not been afflicted, but I have no doubt your employer will understand.

Would be worse if I missed the kid days. I was old enough to work.

Doubt it, personally. Look the same aside from wings, size, glowing. Might be stronger. No exoskeleton or spiracles.

[Handmaiden starts off to find Rogue--she hasn't seen anyone yet who has been turned into a "fairy," and is quite keenly curious about it.

She does see a few people flying around rather clumsily, and keeps an eye out for one that has Rogue's face.]

[Rogue flies - well actually, he flies very well. How to move his wings seems to be instinctive; the rest appears to be a mix of not being afraid and understanding something about how flight works. Actually, he's seen swerving around a few others and trying to tell them how to level out. Part of the trick is not to bother with staying upright.]

[But he flies above the heads of most people until he sees one he thinks he recognizes and dives to within what feels like two meters to him. Then he circles slowly, since he can't seem to hover - exploit a good draft to stay in pretty much the same spot, but not hover.]

Handmaiden.

[It's like swimming; he's a little short of breath. And um. He looks like this, because his mun thought it was adorable.]
