I can't help suspect that this place will change to somewhere a lot less pleasant while we're all here.  Volcanoes-and-ash land or worse.  Nothing we can do about that, but I think that no one should sleep alone.  [Wait, that's going to be taken the wrong way.]  I mean, no one should take a temporary home out of shouting distance from anyone else.

I agree--I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, you know? With everything else that's happened recently, wouldn't it just be the icing on the cake for Thunder Mountain to be an actual volcano or something...

Haven't found any quarters, sorry, but if I spot any I'll let you know.

We definitely have to be wary. If this place turns hostile there really isn't anywhere else we can go - we might have to organize the heavy hitters and that chemical weapon I've heard of to take back part of some other floor, maybe an island.

Thanks.

You know, I'd been wondering what we do about the supplies we've been scavenging per Justice's instructions once the Wilderness shifts (could stow it in the elevator so that it doesn't disappear with the rest, but there's only so much room). The danger element hadn't even occurred to me yet.

Why the sudden need for quarters? Planning on raiding one of the arcades around?

I suppose if we have some heavy hitters clear out some space on another floor, hope the ants don't mind too much... I wish we'd researched how items disappear when this place changes. When it went from the mall to the razed landscape the shops and things in them vanished, but other things, like the bag I was carrying and its contents, didn't.

Nah. I want to play a game, but not that kind of game. I want to test my reflexes, and most of the other coins I've taken a look at just aren't right. The ones called nickels are, but I've got plenty of them already, and these larger ones are more of a challenge.

I get the feeling anything on anyone not from the Wilderness gets to stay with them, anything set down disappears. But that makes me wonder, what about objects that aren't from the Wilderness being brought here? If they don't disappear with everything else, and they're big enough, then maybe Wilderness materials can be loaded on them for future carrying, and kept from disappearing.

Ah, I see. Just how're you using them to run these tests, if you don't mind me asking?

There's an interesting idea. Do you want to test it?

Reflexes and dexterity, I should say. Pilots need both to spare. It's... I wish I could remember what the game's called.

You cock your main arm, elbow ahead like a gun sight, with your hand turned palm up right next to your ear. You stack coins on your elbow, then snap your main hand down and try to catch all of them.

It might not be the most intellectual game, but it does take some skill. Twist your arm even a little while snapping it up and the torque breaks the stack too soon.
