1.) I find it depressing when really technically talented fanartists don't understand characterization.

2.) It bothers me more when female artists mess up with female anatomy. I hate having "breasts don't work that way" or "girl parts don't look like that" moments only to find out the artist is a chick.

God, YES to both. It really irks me when I see poor/lacking characterization in fanart; it's enough to seriously put me off the work, and if the characterization is really poor I rage a little.

And I honestly cannot get how the hell a female artist fails at female anatomy. Whether it's outrageously disproportionate balloon breasts (at least give the poor girl some thunder thighs to match!) or naughty bits that are just...unfortunate-looking, I am completely baffled.

Woof. When will people begin to have basic basic concepts of how boobs work?! Seriously. Even in advertisements and digitally enhanced in movies, it's like - those are taped up funny! What the fuck is wrong with the way boobs actually look/work?
