The Salt Lake City chapter of the National Scrabble Association held a tournament yesterday. I played in division B, the lesser of the two rated divisions, and won! I won't get much of a ratings change, since I was the top seed in the division to begin with, and as a local club tournament instead of an open tournament, it's only 1/3 rated.

Congratulations on your win! Scrabble can be a fiercely competitive game. My mother once got thrown out of a hotel room in Chicago for playing Scrabble too loud.

P.S., The SLC library is one of my favorite buildings to be in. :)

Wow! Just from reading this post, a bit of Scrabble strategy springs to mind. How to induce a challenge: Place, and then remove, an extremely obscure word. Then later, place it again. How sneaky! :-D

Congrats. I wouldn't have expected you to do so well after the previous night's events. Mighty impressive!
