So we may or may not be safe in this storm that's brewing up fiercely. I'm of the opinion that we will not actually have a tornado issue. Then again, we rarely get tornado warnings, so maybe I should be gathering our most important stuffs and shifting it to the basement just in case. The lights are flickering and something just made a odd humming

Yes. Tornado watch means there might be tornados. Tornado warning means that at least one has been spotted. Sirens mean take cover. Find a room with no windows and sit tight. Be safe, darling. *hugs*

I'm glad the storm is past and everything's fine! We had some scary close calls when I was a kid in Illinois, so I take weather warnings much more seriously than most people out here who don't even know how to drive in rain :D

Don't get me started on the idiots who forget how to drive with the slightest change in weather. It's sad, really.

I remember, when I lived in Illinois (Chicago 'burbs) we used to have drills where we hid under our desks. In the northeast we only have fire drills and the occasional bomb threat (for which we used to be herded into the gym). Weather trends are changing and local areas have to got to get with the program.

Indeed! It's all quite taxing, but we're making out all right. So far anyway. Ask me next Tuesday and I might be whistling a different tune ;)
