Buddy comedies have been scarce this year. In fact to find a good comedy at all has been somewhat of a chore. This summer has already seen its share of underachievers: Bewitched, Herbie: Fully Loaded, and even Adam Sandler’s The Longest Yard which, though playing to big box office numbers, left a good portion of its viewers somewhat sour-faced.
