Do you ever wonder if the people that pack the strawberries place them just so, so that you can't see the bruises and rotten spots? Seriously. I bought what looked like a beautiful pack of strawberries and just opened them up to find that every part that wasn't visible through the plastic was icky. Again, I feel that this is a ripe subject for me to argue the other side on. These bruises occur as a result of the packaging. YEs we can even keep the show "fresh by scripting in puns! Yay comedy!!!

Maurice used to work the produce part of stop n shop, and it was part of his job to put the rotten fruit in the middle and hide the bruises. :)

I worked produce at Foodland for a couple years, and our manager would make us do that ... especially on the fruit marked down for being over-ripe. I always thought it was horribly unethical, so half the time I would just throw it away ... got in trouble a couple times for that.
