[ a soft sigh at first, as he picks up the phone. pause. pulls it away to stare at it. mutters under his breath

[he almost doesn't take notice of this newcomer as he passes by, already used to the drones and their perpetually blank stares. there's something about this one that makes him pause, though; Lucy had come back the same as ever, but who's to say the drones hadn't changed?]

...Yes?

[ ah. he's sort of noticed that there seem to be some more active people mixed in with the weird, robotic-acting people. this person seems to be in the former category. seki just shrugs at first, leaning back against the wall as he studies this kid, not really bothering to mask the way he's staring -- almost trying to draw out a reaction. ]

I didn't say anything.

[good, good, that response seems to lack the rehearsed feel that most of the drones seem to possess. he doesn't drop his guard quite yet but he does feel more at ease, feigning mild annoyance.]

No, but it's quite rude to stare.

[ a sideways cant of the head. at least that's a familiar sort of reaction. he sits up straighter to look around for a bit. ]

I guess. Not many people here seem to notice, though. Like they're all pre-occupied.

[ you know what. he's so bored he's going to take that as a challenge.

accompanied by a small, almost-confrontational sideways cant of the head. ]

he's pretending he's not looking at him but he's fidgeting and growing quickly disconcerted

but in a gentleman sort of way of course]

[ this is almost kind of funny. keeps his stare up for a bit longer before saying quietly, ]

Why aren't you saying anything, if you're that bothered.

[You can watch this weird guy in the park setting up which looks like... well it doesn't really look like anything recognizable. Just a mix of random pieces of household items somehow held together to make some sort of device]

[ oh. wow. after a couple minutes of shameless, silent staring, he's going to get up and -- walk a bit closer. not too close, lingering an armslength away. but -- a bit closer. hands jammed in his pockets as he studies whatever's being set up here here. ]

[The Doctor is suddenly shoving a piece of something into his hand]

[ fumbles momentarily but manages not to drop whatever it is. uh. he'll just -- stand there stiffly, holding it in both hands. ]

Ah. I was hoping it would just be like being asleep. Sounds like it would be painful to be awake through.
