It's only when you come to move house that your realise how heavy they all are!

I have been sent home to bed whilst the menfolk do my furniture. I feel less sad about this than I should probably otherwise do. :)

Exactly! I love all my books, but I just wish they weighed nothing.

Heh, I understand. I don't mind doing my fair share, but I also don't mind having others do it for me. :0D

Also, I love my new flat in spite of its many unique features (such as authentic 1960s kitchen, economy7 heating and lack of shower).

I can identify with this! I love my flat despite it not actually having central heating (just a gas fire supplemented by an electric radiator I bought from Argos in the main room, and nothing at all in the bathroom), and when I moved in there was no shower either. My landlord surprised me though by informing me just after I moved in that he'd been meaning to re-do the bathroom and would the end of February be ok? So you never know. ;)

Gosh, I can't remember the last time I lived somewhere wtih central heating!

So much yay for your shower, though! I've been told it's out of the question, and having looked at the bathroom, it probably is.

No, I'll have to go down to the local canal and wash in that. So much cleaner than bathtubs!

Slowly but surely, yes. :) If I could have just teleported my old flat to my new one it would have saved so much time.
