Unexpected Return

This is not the library at the Keep.

Before he lets himself get annoyed about it -- his nature won't let him be completely calm about such things -- he casts around with his senses. Almost immediately, he knows that this isn't the Shadow Realm or Terreille, and if he doesn't know what Hell feels like, then no one does. He can catch a whiff of ( Read more... )

It is rare for Pandora to meet anyone older than her, who looks like he might be vampire, yet is not exactly one. As we said before, she's been told that she looked Hayllian before, and so we can only assume that she'll be looking with curiosity at the new arrival, later in the evening, after she woke.

Her Mind Gift is being better - nothing as powerful as what it should be, but certainly enough to alert her to the fact that this man is a being of power greater than she could ever imagine.

Thus her reverent salutation as she passes him by.

His head turns to follow her movement. She's another mystery. She has a scent, but not like anything he's ever sensed before. Not like Blood, and in some ways not as powerful, but strong. And her coloring does put him mind of a Hayllian or Dhemlan. Saetan doesn't want to distract from his search, so unless she pauses, he won't bombard her with questions, but to be sure, he's noting her for later investigation. He hasn't been a successful ruler or survived as long as he has without being clever and cautious.

Pandora does pause, but it's the barest hitch in her stride - a movement to say hello, to acknowledge him, but also to invite conversation if he so wishes it. She is marking an overture, but not forcing an interacting that the Prime Ancient might not want. For all her own old age - she is one of the oldest vampires of her brood, only fourth after the twins and Marius - Saetan makes her feel almost like a child.

Saetan lets her pass. He can find her later. He's positive of that.

[OOC: Just a bit overwhelmed with responses to him. He's harder to write than Armand. He'll find Pandora later, I promise.]

Moriarty looks up from his book to observe the new arrival. There's something different about this one. Perhaps he is half-blood? Ah, but he lacks the requisite greenish complexion and extra limbs that so much of Her Majesty's extended family proudly sports. Still, it never hurts to be polite.

"Good day, sir."

Reaching the threshold of the main room helps his mood some. He's no longer in the sunlight, which could sap his strength. He's past the days of when he'd allowed Jaenelle to coddle and potion him into being almost as fit as he'd been when he'd been fully alive. But the bubble of cold still surrounds him, and his manner with anyone. But here is another with something odd about his scent. Saetan stops, hands politely by his side.

This one worries him enough that he puts up his Red shield. He openly wears his Black, but the Red is always on his person, concealed. "It's never a good day to find myself taken far from home. What is this place, and who rules here?" He can sense Witch tantalizingly close, but this man and his greeting bars the way. The oddness about his scent doesn't register as taint, but he doesn't want to take any chances. His rage is for a purpose, and if he doesn't reach Jaenelle's side, he's wasted it.

"This is a rather odd place, sir. It is known as the Mansion, and seems to be a connecting point for all dimensions and times. There is no one ruler here, although many of our fellow 'guests' claim to be nobles or persons of note in their own world."

"You then are also a guest here?" Saetan is content enough to linger, if it means he'll learn something. He is still edgy because of the whirl of scents around him, but he guesses he's in no danger, and he can move faster than it would seem if something occurs to change that.

"How can so many people get along with no one to control them?"

Eventually he'll find a couple familiar psychic secents coming toward him, leading to a silver-haired young Queen racing out of the mansion. She slows to a more sedate pace as she decends the stairs, and is followed a few moments later by her husband. Who is carrying their almost two year old son. She grabs his free hand and waves the other over her head they approach. "Uncle Saetan! Hello!"

Chaosti gives him a more respectful nod over his son's head. "High Lord."

So there were more here than just his family. He'd thought as much but wanted to see them. "You two look amazingly well." Considering this place, he doesn't say. The child seems familiar, but not. He inclines his head, looking at the youngster.

Since he's calmer, he feels comfortable imposing a little male to male communication with Chaosti. < < Yours, I trust. > >

< < Of course, > > Chaosti responds, a touch coolly at the thought that Aiden would be anyone else's. The toddler Warlord Prince certainly has the distinctive Dea al Mon features shared by his parents, silver hair and enormous forest blue eyes that are currently staring very seriously at Saetan. Oblivious to the exchange, Gabrielle moved forward to give Saetan a hug. "I'd wondered if you'd show up! It's good to see you--here..." She turns, holding out her hands, and Chaosti hands off the baby. "Aiden, meet your uncle Saetan."

Saetan doesn't care to explain the complexities of how he's just arrived and that he wasn't expecting the child to be this old. He nods to the other Warlord Prince and promises himself to look closely at the boy later. He's all smiles for Gabrielle though, as much as he can be still on edge in this new place.

But now he now also smiles for the boy. "This is a sudden change being here. I'm trying to get my footing. Have you been here long?"
