feels pretty strange to be sitting in the starbuck's next to the library at GW.

anyhoo, TONS of going-ons recently. i don't even know where to start. here goes...

Definitely not what I expected. It began with a dinner at Las Mas with Jules, Jenny, Mary, and Scott (only my second time eating there all summer...pretty amazing). We then adjourned to the GPS parking lot...surprise surprise...where we finally all just jumped in Jules' car and drove around downtown. We ended up at the Marble Slab where Caroline met up with us. In place of eating ice cream, I played peek-a-boo with some random kid.
From there we went to Caroline's house then to Coolidge. It was a gorgeous night. By this time, Joseph, Alex, Megs, and Anthony had also joined us. Spiderman, GI-Joe, and the red M & M were also present. A man whose wife has cervical cancer came up to us trying to give away a full-bred black lab puppy named Midnight. Man, I wanted that dog.
Anyhoo, after a really sad goodbye to Caroline (i'm gonna miss her a whole whole lot), we all headed over to Krystal's. Had to say some more goodbyes to people...alex, megs (ill see you soon though :), mary, half-a-tank.

***START HERE TO SKIP BORING PART***

and then anthony and i had to somehow finish the night with a bang. so we started driving around looking for something amazing to do at 11:53 pm. and we totally did. the tattoo place happens to be open until midnight. so we strolled on in, and the guy (jesse) said he'd do another. so i got me a huge ass tattoo that covers my ENTIRE back and the back of my neck. it is so sweet. and by "i got me a huge ass tattoo that covers my ENTIRE back and the back of my neck," i mean anthony got a 1-square inch chinese character on his back. it looks awesome. great way to commemorate the night. jesse, the tattoo artist was a really cool guy. he let us choose some music...he had all of this punk rock music that we had never heard of, so we of course chose some JOURNEY. then, of course, to wal-mart to get some cocoa butter for the tattoo.
i was hoping to see a few other people before i left, but oh well. i can't force people to say bye to me i suppose. bottom line though, an awesome end to an awesome summer. and im gonna miss all of you chatt-towners.

then... Papa, Honey, Carole, Kristin, Dave, Lula, Molly, Hilda were all there. Not to mention all of G's friends...Alice, J'nisha, Mitch, Mike, Travis, Nikki, Walter, etc etc. all amazing people. the first day my bro took me to the gym where he works and 'personal trained' me. good bonding. then to cracker barrel for alice to meet the fam. i hung out with g's peeps that night.
the commissioning ceremony was incredible. garrett was the only one, so it was all about him. he looked so grown up on that stage. and mom, dad, me, and alice pinned on his 2nd lieutenant bars. my bro is now Lieutenant Holt. kinda weird. kinda sad. kinda happy.
i got to meet alice's fam...that was cool.
that night we went to g's boss's house for a BBQ ( a real southern BBQ). TONS of people there. my dad and i played some bluegrass for everyone. and the rest of the night i spent at mike's house (g's friend) just sayin goodbyes and what not. g drove me home. it was sad. i cried obviously. then we just talked a bit. he needed some advice. i've never seen my brother cry.

and now i'm here.

on another note, whilst in m'boro, i got a phone call...from the white house. i got a job there. hahaha i don't know what else to do except laugh.

ok meeting time.
