ooohh once i put ice in a cup not knowing what i was going to drink then i decided on milk and so i drank it really fast cuz i didn't want the ice to melt looking back at it, i did have at least 5 or 10 minutes to drink it before the ice melted.. but i drank it in like one. i was like 5 or younger. hahaha. one of my fav. stories.
rice and beans, hummus, quorn products (tastes very much like meat), falafel, salads, mushrooms, lentils, most indian food, bean and cheese tacos, quesadillas, tempeh bacon, collard greens or spinach, veggie bologna (sometimes, and with lots of mustard), soup (if it's not meat stock), veggie sushi, yogurt (awesome in smoothies), soy protein powder for extra protein, avocado and tomato and cheese sandwiches, nut butter sandwiches, raw fruit... veggies eat everything except meat. it's not that hard to shift your diet. you can also make shakes with silken tofu. tofu tastes like whatever you season it like... so season it well. it's not hard to disguise. i like tofu cheesecake. a lot a lot a lot. i also love vegan french toast, but i hate regular french toast. weird. dont eat too much soymeat. or soy in general. trader joe's is so bangin, i'm all about their cashew macademia nut butter on rice cakes. and their dried fruit. green juice is also kind of amazing, frightening to the uninitiated but it is delicious. i promise. love, a convert
oh olives are good for protein. www.ivu.org has amazing recipes. all so good. ethnic food is often times vegetarian, or has more veg options... like you can get grape leaves stuffed with lamb or rice. yay choice i'm not vegetarian anymore, but i don't eat milk or eggs. even when i was veg i didnt rely much on those things. eggs = teh nasty i really liked veggie tuna fish though... chick peas + a little mayo + green onion + s&p + a little relish + a little seaweed. it's not the same but it's good in its own right. try to keep that in mind. fake meat or soymilk won't ever be milk or meat, but they have their own flavors and merits.
OH YES veggie burgers are awesome but they dont taste like real ones hah. they have different kinds and flavors. i also had some soy chicken nuggets and they're amazing.
