So, it's been an... 'interesting' past couple of days. Sunday morning, we found that our hot water heater had blown. While trying to get it fixed, the landlord found out that the thing had been installed illegally (it was in front of the emergency water shut-off). He thought he'd got a new one installed, but there was a wiring problem with it.

We've had issues off and on through the year with appliances and such. In June, the furnace was acting up. We had to call the guy out twice to get it fixed. I'm just glad it wasn't cold then. In September, the dishwasher died and then the water company told us we appeared to be using a large amount of water in comparison to previous months. It took Dad parts of two days to get the leak fixed. Thankfully, it wasn't inside the house and it wasn't a tough fix. Recently, we've been having issues with the washer, though Dad's in denial about it maybe needing to be replaced soon. We'll see.
