Found him snooping around down by the engine room last night. Wouldn't give me a straight answer on pretty much anything. Tried playing dumb, but I got a feeling he's a lot sharper than he wants us to think. I've also got reason to think he can see in the dark. Not like a human, but like me, like a demi-human. He wasn't carrying a lantern or flashlight or anything, and I don't buy for a minute that he was lost.
If you want my honest opinion, Prime, I'd say those "missing" items were plants to give him an excuse to go "searching" for them . . . and anything else he might be trying to stick his nose into.
["like you, for instance" - he doesn't say it, but his tone's pretty clear]
Not in itself, no . . . but in my experience, crap adds up. My point being, he wasn't carrying a light, was slinking around where he shouldn't have been, and can't say he was lost in the dark.
Like I told Gintoki, let me know if you want him sat on till we get to port.

I'm going to ask a few members of the crew to have a word with Mr. Caulcher, as well as keep a close watch on him until we land.
