It seems I'm becoming an old man at 24... Every night I'm passing out exhausted earlier and earlier, and every morning I'm finding it harder to sleep in. Today I was fully awake at 5:30, which, while sometimes nice, is not what I wanted on a day when I didn't have to be anywhere ( Read more... )

That's really cool. The building types are randomly generated in relation to each other, or something?

I don't think it's just you. I was walking down St. George today, and a friend greeted me from behind. As I was walking I tried to turn around to half-face him - and did something horrible to my back muscles. Yeah, apparently I can't do that anymore. And I'm only nearly-21. Weird.

Pretty much. They're based on 'randomly' generated floor plans that consist of a set of unioned ploygons. Each building can have several such floor plans (of increasing complexity, so the building is always bigger at the bottom) of varying heights (number of floors). A pseudo random number generator is used, for all the randomly generated building parameters, with a seed based off of the buildings location (and an initial 'city seed'), so you can move about the city and when you come back to a building you've seen before and it will look the same.
