So, I managed to lose my badge at work the other day. Which kinda sets up what happened today. I'm at work today and I hear a voice call out my name and I turn around expecting to see either a colleague or a friend of mine. I turn around to see an unfamiliar face, and being badgeless I'm quite perplexed at how this guy knows my name.
"So, why did you try and steal Kate from me?"
Kate? I haven't tried to date for a year and a half... Oh... It clicks who the guy is.
"Samir?"
"Yeah. You knew she had a boyfriend and you tried to date her anyway."
"Yeah."
"Don't you have any morals?"
Let's backtrack a little, shall me? There was this girl at work who I was interested in, who unfortunately had a boyfriend. She questioned my interest, of course she didn't seem to find my answer of, "It doesn't matter because you have a boyfriend," to her liking and she kept pushing for an answer. Things happened, including me taking her shopping and then back to my place before taking her home.
"Did you take Kate back to your place to have sex with her?"
Wait...what?"No."
"Your forced her to do things."
"No, I didn't."
This continued on for a bit, but the gem of the conversation was, "I didn't know that you took her shopping. She didn't tell me. My friends lied to me about it too."
He was quite happy to call me a liar, and questioned why I was lying to his face, and he told me that his friends lied to him. I mean, what do I have to lose?
He kept asking Kate to clarify things and she sides with him. Luckily I wasn't expecting her to side with me or to be honest about it because, that would have hurt a lot.
Paul, one of the mangers, decides to turn up and see if I'm ok at this point, and after quickly explaining that I'm ok and it's just something come back to haunt me, he sticks around for a while and eventually just lets loose with, "I'm going to have to ask you to leave because this is a personal thing and he has a job to do."
"Are you going to call security?"
"No, but it's a personal issue and he has a job to do."
I bring Paul up to speed and he is cool with what happened and he told me a story that happened to him of a similar kinda deal, except he had to deal with a brother not a boyfriend.
So, when I get home I search for the last letter she ever wrote me. The one that says how hard it is to tell me of her decision to stay with him. The one in which she apologises for leading me on.
She's been hot and cold with me ever since writing that letter, usually cold, and I don't blame her, but we had a conversation on her birthday and it went really well, but she's been cold against since then.
I was still kinda unsure of myself at this time. Luckily for me Daniel made a rare appearance on MSN and he assured me that what he saw between us was mutual and not one sided. I'm not going crazy, but I still feel kinda ick.
I just don't see why he decided to hassle me now. They've been together for a while, they have a kid together. Does he really have nothing better to do than bug me at work?
