ok so i won't have a clue as to details about what had happened, but i would assume that the monitor is borked. it'll be interesting to hear about what happens if you hook that monitor up to another system (tho back up first! >.<; )
do you have any other monitors you can use for the time being? ^^;
using brothers monitor for the moment while i get another. will hopefully be able to try attaching different computer to monitor tonight. Super weird though huh.
Monitor is still set for 60 hz, as was the tab in display properties. brothers pc was also set for 60hz
I got hold of my brothers old pc for the night just now, and sure enough connecting it to my monitor gave the same problem as connecting to my pc. I really was not expecting that to be the case.
Also if it was a setting in a file in windows wouldn't system restoring have fixed it? I am not 100percent sure what system restore does in technical terms so maybe it wouldn't.
I'm probably just gonna pick up a second hand lcd 19 0r 21 inch at this point as the hours trying to fix it are consuming are worth more than it would cost to replace it.

It is a pity though it was a great monitor.
