Cole stood by the door of the restaurant he'd rented out the whole place for Max's birthday. It was the best idea he'd had in a while as far as he was concerned. All he had to do was pay the fee and decorate and the staff would take care of the rest. He looked around with a smile watching Max run around the room already dressed in his Jedi outfit. Isa bounced into the room, pulling Millie along. They were both in sundresses, Millie's plain black, Isa's flowered. Isa's pigtails bobbed as she went.

"Slow down," Millie said.
Isa shook her head. As soon as she saw Max, she let go of Millie's hand and ran over, nearly knocking down the birthday boy. "MAX!"

Max laughed rocking back on his feet. He even gave the little girl a quick hug before bouncing in place. "Look at all the stuff Isa!"

Cole smiled giving Millie a wave.

Isa hugged back. "It's Star Wars!" She'd only seen bits of the movies when they played in the background on her playdates with Max, but she knew the characters were his favorites.

Millie grinned at Cole. "Hey - nice party."

"Yup and we can play on anything we want. Dad got me the whole place for the party,"he grinned pointing at the huge play place with ball pits.

"He seems to like it,"Cole grinned back,"Besides it means easy clean up for me."

Casey walked up towards Cole's apartment. Before she could knock on the door, she stopped and took a deep breath. Things had been weird between them since she took off for DC. Sure, at heart it was work related, but also... But today she was here for Max, she reminded herself. She straightened her dress and knocked on the door, present in hand.

Cole smiled when Casey stepped into the restaurant. He hadn't been sure she'd come though he was glad she did.

Max came charging out of nowhere,"Casey!"

Casey saw Max sprinting over and couldn't help but beam.

"Max!" she squealed scooping him up and ruffling his hair. "How have you been bud??"
