some of my favorite opening lines:

"Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone."

"I'm wishing on a star to follow where you are."

"I, I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair"

"Here comes the sun, here comes the sun."

I really think, that "Like A Prayer" is Madonna's best song. The lyrics, the surprising (at that time) sophistication of the melody… she even looked at her prettiest then, for me. It's a fun conversation starter :) naming your five best Madonna songs, followed by your five best Madonna videos! The two that are always on my list are "Like A Prayer" and "Open Your Heart."

Will Madonna ever wear hear natural hair color again? Back in the day (ack!), she told Smash Hits that she patiently waited to get back her natural color ("Like A Prayer" era) only to have it dyed again for Dick Tracy…

I love lists (High Fidelity raised this to a cool level), and this has to be among the best ones I've seen. what made it really cool were your comments below each entry.

Made me wanna reach for my ipod in search of really cool beginnings.
