So it's the day after my exam and I'm so glad it's over! The past week I just been so ancy anticipating the day when the exam would come just so it could be over. And to add to the excitement, I feel pretty positive about my grades. The most positive I have ever felt coming out of a medical school exam up to now. I think me studying the 10 ( Read more... )

man, that hits you in the gut. you're right -- it's one thing to hear about it or see it on tv, but to be there.. wow -- must be spooky.

i've been reading about the new orleans/oklahoma city/baton rouge/norman/charlotte/where-will-we-play-our-next-"home"-game hornets, and about how the team will play a role in the reconstruction of new orleans. my first reaction was that maybe new orleans needs a lot more time to rebuild and repopulate before another nba team lands there, but now i see why new orleans NEEDS the hornets: they need some release from the reality of what new orleans has, in very short order, become.. and anything positive in the city has the ability to, no double pun intented, assist in rebounding (no intention, but pretty good huh?)
i have a friend in med school at tulane... had to leave. i think he's at rice now. but, like you, new orleans was always his first choice over every other place. now... who knows anymore?

STAY UP!

Thanks for that man and at first, I thought why were they so worried about the sports and even Mardi Gras in the process of rebuilding, but like you said, maybe there needs to be something to keep their minds off of the situation at hand. And besides, it's a way to make money to help in the rebuilding, right? lol.

i am so afraid to go back to new orleans, right now. several of my friends have gone, but i just can't do it. reason why is that dez and i were in nola the weekend of katrina and had we returned our rental car, we would have been stranded down there. everytime i see the images all i think about is me, six months pregnant in the superdome.

it still sends shockwaves through me..

but i'm glad you had a great time. and kudos on the test.
