Evan was in a rare mood for coffee. He didn't know why, perhaps he wanted a shot of caffeine to go with his happy mood. It was nice living with Aislin. She kept his house nice and clean, he hadn't seen it that way in so long. It was hard living on his own, locating other gods, and just doing what he needed to do. Now he didn't have to worry. He just had a wonderful home with a beautiful redhead ( ... )

Brianna hadn't noticed anyone behind her at first. She was too busy thinking. When she was deep in thought as she was, the world around her faded away as her mind worked. It wasn't until she felt someone stroking her hair that she snapped out of it. Blinking she turned to see a disheveled older man looking much too pleased to be petting her hair.

Her blue eyes went wide and she was about to let out a cry for help but Brigid stopped her. Look. was the whispered word in her mind. The little redhead gulped, doing her best not to think of every episode of Criminal Minds she had ever seen and looked.

There was something. A shimmer. Her eyes didn't see so much as her mind did. A sense. Like with Aislin. Was he like her? "Are you alright?" she asked slowly, still prepared to run like hell if he tried to grab her or something.

Evan pulled his hand back, realizing just what he had been doing. He didn't try to touch her hair, it was just too captivating not too. Being around Aislin all day made him crazy for it. He smiled sheepishly, knowing it wasn't right to be touching her like that. It was just so difficult. Her tone, however, indicated she was a bit uncomfortable. He didn't mean to scare her.

He looked up at her to apologize, but stopped when he caught her eye. A smile spread across his face. "I am now," he stated, taking a seat next to her.

He leaned forward, his smile still wide. "You're a goddess!" he announced proudly.

Brianna could have facepalmed. Seems her instincts where right. "Um...yea..." she said and blushed. He seemed very happy. Just how many gods and goddesses were running around in LA anyway? Aislin had said they were being drawn here and to each other. How many more would she meet. "I'm Brianna." she said, offering her hand shyly. "Brianna O'Flannigan."

She was young as a human and as a goddess. She still didn't have a full grip on everything and was unnerved every time this mythological world snuck up on her. But Brianna was anything if polite. The man might be a little odd, but she supposed logically there would be some who had trouble with their otherworldly self and went a bit mad. She herself was expecting it any day now.

Evan felt a wave of pity for the girl. She seemed to young and scared. He wondered if her goddess had been the same, or if it was purely a human trait she had. Hopefully it was merely a remnant of being human that would quickly dissipate as she became more of Brigid and less of Brianna.

He offered a kind smile, hoping it came off in some way as trying to put her at ease. He wasn't good at consoling people. "I'm sure there are other things to do than fight. Do you have any skills in that?"

He pondered her other statement, but wasn't sure how to answer it. He'd recently found the joy in violence. Soon he hoped he'd be strong enough to fight in the Coliseum. He'd have tried it sooner, but surely Chris would have disapproved of his abilities. Perhaps she needed time too. Was Brianna to young and innocent to enjoy it? He wasn't sure, but didn't want to risk it just yet. Perhaps he'd stick with more innocuous things. Like cookies and Aislin.

Brianna shrugged. "The Goddess knows warfare so I know it too...Heck, I could forge a sword with the knowledge she's given me. In truth I'd rather write my poetry and leave it at that. I suppose I could write ballads about it, like the bards of old. Record everything so people know about us in the future." She would be more than content to be their bard, but not their general or anything. She had an inkling though whichever side she ended up on wouldn't want her for her prose.

Warfare. That might come in handy. Ares was all violence and fighting, but little strategy. Brianna would be a good addition if they ever ran across Athena. There was talk she was a brilliant strategist. They didn't have one of those yet. He and Aislin were going to have to convince her to help them without scaring her away.

He had just met her, but she was already precious to him. His desire to protect her in someway certainly was growing. Still, her offer to write ballads about the upcoming war was an odd suggestion, even to him. She would sit on the sidelines and write poetry about the chaos that was to come? It confused him.

"If certain gods win this war, there will be little need for that. Gods have immortal souls that mostly stay out of sight and out of mind for the humans now. Our powers are so weak here. But some people are trying to find ways to grant us immortality and power on this plane. In these mortal bodies. It will be interesting, I think."

She thought on that. It would be amazing to obtain immortality. The amount of knowledge she could amass would be staggering. That alone was something to seriously consider. Everyone had their price. Knowledge was hers. "I think it would really depend on which side my friends are on." It was true. She would follow those she cared for into anything, even world domination.
