Abby still wasn't sure what she thought of being a god -- or having been a god. She wasn't entirely sure where the line was drawn, in part because thinking about it seemed so entirely ridiculous...
With Conri, it was easier to accept the role, in part because she always had to be on guard with him. Not for a second did his exterior fool her: she knew what lurked in the young man's skin and rippled beneath his shy speech -- it was the Big Bad Wolf, a creature whose sole purpose was to kill a God. Given the way that God had treated him, it was little wonder. For the sense of familiarity alone, she had agreed to join him here, searching for the other gods. She still hadn't told him about Vince -- and she hadn't told Vince about Conri.
With good reason, she reflected as she rose to greet her companion. "So, what's the plan?"
