I use Blogger, which does allow for multiple people to post to the same blog, but as I've never actually used that functionality, I can't speak for ease... but hey, it's free, so easy to check out, eh? :-)

I believe the new movable type (i use movable type for my blog) is now set up to create communities with profiles and such.
I've been thinking of turning my blog into a social networking site :)
