I cannot for the life of me figure out why everyone is so excited about it. Why is the royal family all of a sudden relevant to the entire world population's lives?

Everyone at school pretty much looked at me like I was stupid when I said I didn't know a royal wedding was going to happen. I seriously can't see why it's SO important that I must know all about it and want to see it. . .

Idk, maybe it's because I find him so unattractive and I was never really interested in (recent) British royalty.
