better than pretty good

I had a great weekend. There was nothing particularly special about it, except that we finally got some much needed sunshine -- no parties or shopping sprees or reunions with old friends. Just the normal weekend stuff, errands and cleaning and goofing off with the dogs in the park, but somehow I was able to really appreciate it this week ( Read more... )

I felt good just reading that entry! I'm glad that things are falling in place, and that you are getting some down time to reflect and enjoy. Can't wait to meet your furkids!

It sounds like a wonderful weekend, D. I'm glad things are coming along so well. And I love the idea of a community garden too. We're trying to get James to find a space in Acworth for one, but I don't think he sees the value of it. I may have to pull out the panda wrestling video and blackmail him.
Two weeks and a few days! It's exciting.

Oh let me talk to him! Community gardens are really wonderful. They bring people together, they're beautiful, and you can grow, give away or sell local organic fruits and veggies there. It definitely adds something to a neighborhood. People take ownership of the space and it becomes a totally different kind of public activity that's educational, healthy, & fun for a diverse range of individuals and families.

How lovely. We had a community garden in Logan Square off of California and it was such a happy space. I should try and get something fired up here in AA. I crave a little spot of earth to get dirty and grow something. Glad you had a nice weekend. xo L

p.s. still on the hunt for a dog walker for you (Derek & Megan can't do it, but we are calling around). At the very least A and I can drop them at the kennel after the wedding ends if you like.

Thanks Yodin:

I think my parents will take them to the kenel in the morning as no kenel stays open late enough to receive the dogs Sat. night. At this point, I'm just interested in somebody who can watch them during the wedding, but if you can't find anyone, I suppose we can find a way to make do. Thanks for all your help in any case. You are awesome!
