Got some work done today on one of the two syllabi I must finish in the next week or so. The amount of work I got done is unremarkable, the important part is the fact of the work. It was really, (really, really) hard to get in the right headspace, but I did manage to get in the zone for a few hours and finalize about half of the syllabus for my

Semesters are a lot longer. I'm glad colleges were doing quarters when I went. I want to get in, get done, and get out.
Good for you for getting started. Sometimes it is the act of starting itself that stops us. Once we start, the ball gathers its own momentum.

Matt really enjoyed teaching the writing class to seniors up at Carleton this summer--albeit it was just a few weeks and not an entire semester! He really thinks that it is the right direction for him.
