Two years ago today I was laid off from a job I really liked. It wasn't a huge shock, but it hurt.
Two years later I'm managing a team nearly as large as the one I was laid off from. My CTO pulled me aside to say he really thinks I'm doing a great job both as a manager and an architect.
Pretty fucking awesome.
