btvsats_love She had always loved the little white flowers in her neighbor’s flower pot. Sometimes, when Giles was dropping her off after one of their dates, she would jokingly tell him she would love him forever if he lifted some of the flowers for her. He would give her a stern look, shake his head, and tell her she needed to behave. Giles would never admit he was rather afraid of getting caught, and being embarrassed.
After she’d died, Giles found himself with the flowers. They were what he placed on her grave the day after she was buried. Six flowers in all - three to signify the three disastrous dates they’d been on, two for the number of times Willow walked in on them while they were snogging, and one for the love he would always feel for her.
He had gotten the flowers but she wasn’t there to love him forever.
The following spring, when life was to begin anew, Giles found himself at the pot again. But this time, the flowers hadn’t bloomed. Just like Jenny, they were gone forever, leaving an empty space inside the pot, much like her death had left an emptiness inside of him.
