Of course this is still the same country that not too long ago had to ban "Knife and Katana" sales because hooligans and gangs, who could not get guns, were using them instead...
That right there says "Nanny State" to me. Of course, on the fox hunt thing, I agree.. No need for it.
I thought something like that (it being blown up) was going on. In general I am suspicious of anything that comes with a professionally done voice-over. The fact that it was an American voice (given the subject) threw up even more red flags.
I admit I didn't watch that video clip all the way through, but I think the hunting ban was passed in about 2004 or 2005. There was a big deal made about it at the time, but (depending on who you ask) the majority of the UK's population still oppose the hunt. Probably some still goes on, and the police often turn a blind eye because they've got more important things to do, but our society/ecosystem didn't collapse because of the ban and I've not heard anyone mention it for ages now.

they're a very, very tiny minority of people who feel that way in the UK. most of us think the they're cunts.
gun policy hasn't "gone tragically wrong", guns are still very rare over here, as it gun crime.
