A few of my friends have heard me struggling with trying to explain the religion I grew up in. I've used the term "cult" before, I've said "seventh day adventist offshoot". dunno, but alot of the ideas that are contained in WWCOG teachings are seen in other places as well. it was rather complex.

There are other children of the church wandering aroundSadly I am not one of these,but my kids best friend is and they do not at all seem as harsh or cultic as wikipedia has described.
I am sorry though that just like my childhood religon we are both kinda fcked and have very warped, deep sense of this hell we call life earth.

No I don't think it's nearly as ominous as wikipedia mades is sound. Infact as far as churches go it's not nearly as bad as being a southern baptist. there's actually quite a lot less of the whole "you're going to hell" than alot of churches and way way way less evangelical stuff. Infact we were barred from alot of proselytizing.
